Caro North

alpinist - climber

From Greenland to Patagonia, Caro has explored some of the remotest reaches of our planet. For her, the ability to explore isn’t to be found in any particular place. It’s all about what lies within. Having the courage to take on our challenges, whatever they may be.

“There will always be challenges along the way but I always say that things get interesting when life is challenging. I’m looking for challenges all the time.”
Caro North

Fernanda Maciel

ultra runner

Fernanda has set speed records everywhere from Antarctica to the Alps, Aconcagua to Kilimanjaro. But as a qualified environmental lawyer, she’s much more than a performance athlete.

“Greatness is not defined by how much better you are than someone else. True greatness is shown through one’s works and actions, the way you impact the lives of others. Without respect exploration becomes empty.”
Fernanda Maciel

Fay Manners

climber

Growing up in Southern England, Fay’s path didn’t always look like it would lead to the mountains. Now a leading figure in the mountaineering community, she finds inspiration in people who stop at nothing to make their dreams reality.

“To me, exploration is someone stepping out of their comfort zone, pushing themselves into places they hadn’t been before and being really satisfied with that.”
Fay Manners

Caroline Ciavaldini

climber - trad / bigwall

As one of a growing number of female athletes returning to elite sport after having kids, Caroline sees things differently than she used to. For her, the achievements that really stand out are those with the most meaning behind them.

In November I managed my hardest trad route ever. It was an E10 in the south of France and what made it so special is that I had to work super hard for it. After having kids, it can be difficult to imagine getting back to where you were as an athlete. So to think I did a route even harder than what I was doing before…it took a lot of courage.”
Caroline Ciavaldini

Arianna Tricomi

skier - freeride

In some ways, everything has changed for three-time world champion Arianna. In others, nothing has. From skiing her first tree line to standing atop near-vertical faces on the Freeride World Tour, she’s noticed that greatness isn’t about performance. It’s about something else...

alt
alt
“Sometimes we forget to have fun in sport these days, so my advice to younger girls is simple: do what you do for the fun.”
Arianna Tricomi

Marion Haerty

snowboarder - freeride

A four-time world champion, Marion knows how it feels to be out front. But she also knows that no achievement or accolade will ever come close to the camaraderie and shared passion she experiences on mountain expeditions with friends.

alt
alt
“My favourite recent expedition is definitely the time I spent in Nepal, climbing with other women. To share the same passion for the outdoors was special.”
Marion Haerty
