In 2010, at The North Face® we updated our daypacks and made improvements to provide a closer anatomical fit, and make them more comfortable and practical. After intense study and analysis, and with guidance from Dr. Scott Bautch, DC, DACBOH, CCST, CCSP and the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), we redesigned the shoulder straps, back panels and waist belts. Through this process, we created the Heritage backpack collection with ACA approval and certification. The shoulder straps are injection moulded, creating innovative flex points to alleviate the load on the collar bones and ease compression on pressure points. Each strap is designed and manufactured with an anatomically correct profile specifically for men or women. The design of the back panels now provides a better fit with a channel designed to relieve pressure from the spine and more comfortable materials for when a heavy load needs to be carried. We have also updated the interior layout of the backpacks with spacious pockets and separators for storing and organising everything required for class, work or leisure activities.
